Linda writes:
This is a transcription of the will of Mary Thomas wife of Liverton Thomas. The will made in 1816; Mary died in September 1820.
Mary Thomas of Nottingham township, Washington Co. in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania the wife of Liverton Thomas deceased ---of body but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last Will and testament and first of all I recomend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God at the general resurrection and as touching such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form viz It is my will that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid I will and bequeath unto my four daughters all my wearing apperel to be equally divided among them viz Rebeckah Lockwood, Mary Cowell, Lydia McEntire and Ann Munn I give and bequeath unto nine of my grandaughters and my son William all and singerlyly my estate equally to be devided among them viz William Thomas, Mary Lockwood, Mary Thomas daughter of Edmond, Mary Thomas daughter of Michael, Mary Caldwell, Mary McEntire, Mary Thomas daughter of Jonathan, Mary Thomas daughter of Joseph, Mary Munn, and Lydia Thomas daughter of Liverton. The property to be sold by my executors and the money to be put use and paid to them as they come of age and if one or more of them dies before they come of age their share or share to be equally divided among the rest and I do likewise constitute make and ordain Zenos Leonard the sole executor of this my last Will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disallow all and every former testament Wills abd Legesees and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last wil and testament In Wittness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of Feburary in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen
