This work contains an account of Washington County's early history of Washington County. There are separate chapters for each of the original townships. The township chapters are full of genealogical information of the pioneer families who settled there starting in the late 1790's. 	Beers, J. H. and Co., Commemorative Biographical Record of Washington County, Pennsylvania (Chicago: J. H. Beers & Co., 1893), 1468 pages. Separate index available. This massive work contains biographical sketches of some 2500 citizens of Washington County in the late 1890's. It includes portrait drawings of many subjects. This work is an excellent source, especially if you need to establish family relationships or you need to determine where a family moved migrated from or to. 	McFarland, Joseph F., 20th Century History of the City of Washington and Washington County, Pennsylvania (Chicago: Richmond-Arnold Publishing Co., 1910), 1369 pages. Another history of Washington County, including biographical sketches of some 800 persons. This book is a nice supplement to the Beers work as it was written 20 years later.
	Clark, S. J., History of Washington County, Pennsylvania (Chicago: The S. J. Clarke Publishing Co., 1926). Two volumes.
