           James8 Clemens was an eighth generation descendant of Richard1 Clements
      of Croft, Leicestershire, England. James was a great-great-greatuncle 
      of Samuel L Clemens (Mark Twain).

           There was another Clemens family in Donegal Township which was 
           not related. It was of German origin. Adam Clemens c1754-1824 
           had sons: John, Nicholas, George, David and likely Philip and 
           Abraham. They have numerous descendants in Washington County.
