John Dickerson 1721-1785 went from Montgomery County, Maryland to Dun- bar Twp, Fayette Co, Pa before 1772. In 1774 he moved to what is now Franklin Township, Washington County - earlier Morris and Amwell Twp. m c1739 Ruth --- c1721-1807 - - see Will Book 1, 45: Deed Book U, 372 John registered slaves 1782. Baruch c1762- in Canton Twp 1800, Amwell 1810 ?dead 1826 Joshua Dickerson (relation to above unknown) moved 1790 from Morris Co, New Jersey to Strabane Twp, Washington Co; 1790 census 2-3-4; to (then) Morris Twp by 1793; listed in 1880 census Morris Twp with three sons and four daughters; dead by 1810 Son: Joseph 1800 in Morris, no children, recently married; Joseph (d 183_ b Dec 3-1776 N J m 1800 Abigail Hinds, daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Breese) Hinds, who were in Morris Twp in 1800; their son, Isaac Haines Dickerson 1802-1867 m 1826 Charity Vankirk 1803-1878; Isaac moved to Blooming Grove, Ohio in 1831; his daughter, Phoebe Elizabeth 1843-1910 was the mother of Warren G Harding Raymond M Bell 25 January 1982 |
