The Dickerson Family of Washington County
      John Dickerson 1721-1785 went from Montgomery County, Maryland to Dun-
      bar Twp, Fayette Co, Pa before 1772. In 1774 he moved to what is now 
      Franklin Township, Washington County - earlier Morris and Amwell Twp. 
      m c1739 Ruth --- c1721-1807 - - see Will Book 1, 45: Deed Book U, 372 
      John registered slaves 1782. He had 12 children:
      1. Joshua 1740-1827 to Dunbar Twp before 1772, where he lived and died 
         Children: (sons to Harrison Co, Ohio) Thomas 1764-1852, William, Eli 
          1768-1834. John, Joshua 1778-1850, Levi, Sarah 1780- 1858 m Dunlap,

          listed in court records 1776; in Ohio 1808 
      6. Rachel c1750- son, John ?dead 1826 
      7. Susanna c1752 ?dead 1826 
      8. Henry 1754-1825 m 1780 (Dod) Ann Cullum; soldier 1776; 1790 census

      11. Druscilla c1760-1826 m Charles Boner; Finley Ywp, Washington Co 1800 
      12. Baruch c1762- in Canton Twp 1800, Amwell 1810 ?dead 1826
      
      Joshua Dickerson (relation to above unknown) moved 1790 from Morris Co, New 
      Jersey to Strabane Twp, Washington Co; 1790 census 2-3-4; to (then) Morris Twp 
      by 1793; listed in 1880 census Morris Twp with three sons and four daughters; 
      dead by 1810 
      
      Son: Joseph 1800 in Morris, no children, recently married; Joseph (d 183_ 
           b Dec 3-1776 N J m 1800 Abigail Hinds, daughter of Benjamin and Mary 
           (Breese) Hinds, who were in Morris Twp in 1800; their son, Isaac Haines 
           Dickerson 1802-1867 m 1826 Charity Vankirk 1803-1878; Isaac moved to 
           Blooming Grove, Ohio in 1831; his daughter, Phoebe Elizabeth 1843-1910 
           was the mother of Warren G Harding
