The idea for this information exchange area came from a reader. Here is how this message board can be used: 1. To augment the information found among the articles. Remember that the articles in Beers Biographical Record are exactly that: a biographical record, not the fruits of a painstaking research activity. In most cases the information in the articles came directly from family members living at the time. In the days before the onset of our national record-keeping mania, families kept track of ancestors via word-of-mouth and bible records. Details may have been lost or distored.
Over the ensuing one hundred years, many family genealogists have uncovered records that refute, support, or help clarify events as they have been recorded in Beers. Please use this message area to communicate such information as you wish to share.
2. Point out transcription errors. In a project the size of the Beers project, we expect that a number of transcription errors slipped through. If you identify any, please let us know via this message board.
