| Body: | We have volunteered to provide "lookup" services on several GenWeb pages (OH, PA, WV, & KY). For the most part, people have been very nice about limiting their requests to single individuals or one family group. Increasingly, however, we have been receiving requests such as "give me everything you can find about the _____ family". This goes against the precepts of the GenWeb and most assuredly will deter folks from volunteering their time and resources to do lookups. While not trying to turn this Message Board into a gripe forum, we need to get the message across that lookups are a service provided by people willing to assist other researchers and NOT free research services. Comments? Suggestions? |
