    Seeking info. of my gg grandfather: Abraham Southward from England, born 1845; married Anna Thomas of PA,she was born about 1848. Do not know when or how he arrived in PA. I have a newspaper article dated about 1959 that was published in Milo, Ia. concerning one of Abraham's son, Thomas. This article states, "Southward is a native of Centralia, Penn. He was 4 when his miner father came to Lucas (IOWA) for the opening of Cleveland No. 1 mine."
    I have not been able to place Abraham in PA. but have found him in Iowa in 1880, age 35. He died in Iowa 1892. Would love to find info. on him and his family. Are there any Southwards still out there? Would sure love to correspond with them.
    Abraham owned a brick klein in Iowa before he died. I have been unable to document Anna's death. In the 1895 Iowa census she was a widow and 47 yrs. old.

    George STEWART born c1758 in VA-MD-PA, the son of either Stephen or James STEWART. May have had brothers James, Joel, John, Stephen. Was living in Washington Co, PA area in 1778. Served in the Revolutionary War, possibly as a scout. Married Elizabeth CRANSHAW or CRENSHAW from ?. When and where unknown but est to be in 1780s to early 1790s. The family was one of the early settlers living in Scioto Co, OH, French Grant area by late 1790s. May have had 6 - 8 children before settling in OH where at least 4 more were born. George is said to have been married possibly 2 additional times, one to a woman named JUSTICE and another to a woman named BURCH. Died in either IL or OH.     Seeking vitals on Delilah Hewitt, born abt. 1813, possibly in Washington County, PA. In 1840, married
    Ezekiel Shepherd, born abt. 1813 in Washington County, PA. They moved across the state line to
    Ritchie County, WV and spent most of their lives in that area, raising several children, including my
    great grandfather. Need lookups on birth and marriage. While
    it's very likely that both were born and married in Washington County, PA, they could have occurred somewhere
    else in Pennsylvania. The dates are reasonably accurate. I also need information on siblings or ancestors
    if that information is found. There were Hewitt's who lived in this county and elsewhere in PA prior to
    1840. Any information is welcome and appreciated.

    I am researching my Wynn ancestors who I think followed this route to Minnesota where in the
    late 1800s they were farmers and loggers in Wadena, Ottertail, and Cass counties. My grandfather
    Levi Rufus Wynn was born in Minnesota in the l894.His father, James Henry Wynn, was born in
    Indiana in 1851; his father, John Henry Wynn, was born in 1824 in Ohio. James Henry and John Henry
    died in Minnesota. I am looking for information about John Henry Wynn. A census report lists
    Mary Wynn as living with him in MN, and as having been born in 1800 in Virginia. I do not have
    the name of John Henry's father. It might have been Isaac Wynn, born in PA.

    . They settled in Washington County c. 1773-1776. John and Ruth probably wed c. 1739. They had twelve children who were probably all born in Frederick County, Maryland: Joshua, born March 14, 1740; Margaret, c. 1742; John, c. 1744; Sarah, c. 1746; Richard, c. 1748; Rachel, c. 1750; Susanna, c. 1752; Henry, c. 1754; Gideon, c. 1756; Asa, c. 1758; Drusilla, c. 1760; Baruch, c. 1762. John Dickerson died in Morris Township, Washington County in 1785. Ruth died in 1807. Joshua married Susanna Witten. Margaret wed John McLaughlin. John wed Mary
    . Sarah wed Leonard Roberts. Richard married Sarah
    . Asa married Lydia
    . Drusilla wed Charles Bonar. Gideon died in 1789. The name of Henry's wife is not known. He died in Washington County in 1825. Rachel and Susanna probably died prior to 1808. Baruch was still alive in 1810. Any further information on these people would be much appreciated.

    I am looking for information on Margaret Dickerson, who was born c. 1742, probably in Frederick County, Maryland, the daughter of John Dickerson and Ruth
    . Margaret married John McLaughlin. Does anyone know when and where he was born? Margaret and John had several children, but I know the name of only one, Mary, who wed David Cunningham. Margaret Dickerson McLaughlin was still living on January 11, 1808, when, in Washington County, she was a party to a Writ of Manumission freeing slaves belonging to her parents' estate. I do not know how long she lived. John McLaughlin died in Fayette County in 1828.

Sarah lived until 1829. Sarah andLeonard were living in Bethleham Township in 1794. Dickerson Roberts ran for sheriff of Washington County in the early 1800's.

    Lucretia. They moved on to Ohio about 1800 and both died there. Since Morris' father lived adjacent to several Meek familes in West Bethlehem Twp, Meek is logical. Children's

    Harrison Andrews could be H. B. Andrews lived in PA. He, wife and children migrated to Ontario, Ohio. He was born May 3, 1818. Married to Mary (Rankin)Andrews born on March 13, 1817. They were married January 14,1841. They had six children, all believed to be born in Penn. They are: Mary born April 16, 1842, John Rankin born May 1, 1844,
    Martha Elizabeth born September 14, 184?, James born July 14, 1851, officer William Oliver born September 12, 1853, Thomas Franklin born January 15, 1858. Story has it that Thomas Franklin as a small boy lived in Penn. The family moved from Penn. to Ontario Oh. Both Harrison and Mary are buried at Ontario Community Cemetery, Ontario, Oh.

    Seeking to exchange information on The Scott Family found on page 529 in Beers Biography. I can add much more on the families of Mary Scott Young, my ancestor, and James Young as well as on the family of Samuel Scott whose family provided the material found in the article. Two books McGinness- Scott Family History published in 1892 written by Samuel Wilson McGinness and his granddaughter Mary Rebecca Ford and Scott - White and Related Families of Western Pa. by George Wilson Scott in 1953. I have a microfilm of the older book and have copied the pages of the more recent one. Mary "Polly" Scott was the daughter of Samuel Scott and Elizabeth Wilson. She married James McGinness and Samuel Wilson McGinness was their oldest son. Mary Scott Young was my great-great-great-great grand mother. She had 8 children, 7 surviving to adulthood and 6 having descendants. Letitia married John Hall, Matthew married Elizabeth Bail, Thomas married a Miss Merriman and lived in Sewickley, Mary married Thomas McMillen, Ann married William Hall, brother of Letitia's husband John. They are the only couple who had no descendants. Margaret married Robert Lutton and my ancestors are John Young and Abigail Bail, sister of Matthew's wife Elizabeth. Any of this sound familiar to anyone?

Jesse married Elizabeth ( unknown surname ) about 1810, they had JOHN W.     I am looking for my gggrandmother's gravesite or death record. Her name was Anna Borko Soika. She arrived in PA in 1907 from Ukraine. She was married to Michael Soika. Her religion was Greek Byzantine. She died in 1930 according to a family history log. She is not buried with her husband, Michael. Michael is buried in Fayette Co PA. Family tells me that she is supposed to be buried in Canonsburg next to her son George. This family was poor so the likelihood of having a visible gravestone or a funeral record is slim.
