I have reference to a Heidelberg Moravian Church Records in 1752 in PA. Is or was that Church in Washington Co, PA? If so then I was looking at the wrong end of PA for information on a Meyer, Cathrina and in particular Matthias and for Zimmermann, Christain, Geor Matthias, Johanne Henrick, Hermannus, Johan Gerhard etc from 1752 and after. I've been searching for my grandfather's roots; Rev Paul Howard ANDREE,1879. He was orphaned before the age of 8; so we have had no info. till Wed. this week. I found a Paul Andree living in Mifflin Twp with a wife and 2 children in the 1860 census. Then in the 1870 census, I find the same family with 7 children; one of which was named Paul; but the name now spelled with 1 "e"; ANDRE. They were then living in Elizabeth Twp. This son Paul may be the father of my grandfather Paul. The family disappears from there; but I have only started looking. I at least have something new to work on, but would appreciate any info and help finding this family. The father, Paul; in the 1860 census was listed as a coal miner. Did the coal mines keep employee records; and are they readily available ? My grandfather married Sara ZIMMERMAN, 1882 of the Noah Zimmerman family of Westmoreland Co. Seeking info on Philip JACKSON and family. I think Philip (my gggg-grandfather) came with one or two brothers to Hanover Twp around 1786, and owned acreage near town of Florence. He married Rosanna MURPHY in 1779, and served in the 3rd Co, 4th Battalion, Washington Co militia. Philip was an elder of the Cross-Roads Presbyterian Church. I am unclear on the names and number of his children. In addition to family info, I am looking for the memoirs of a Rev Elisha (or Thomas) McCURDY, paston of the Cross-Roads Church from 1800-1835. My grand father, Thomas A. Neely, attended St. Vincent's in Latrobe from 1898 to 1902. The College seems reluctant to provide more information than that. Does any one know if there are year books for the College from that period? If there are, are they available at the College Library? Anyone else researching the McCLARY/McCLEARY/McCLEERY line?

OWEN(S)--Anyone researching an OWEN(S) family in western Wash. Co., especially Hopewell, Independence and Donegal Twp.s, in the 1820's. A male OWEN mar. a Miss HUKILL from near Bethany in s.e. Brooke Co., W. Vir. c. 1825. She was s/o Joseph HUKILL and had siblings Wm., Eliza KEMPLE, Amelia SCHWATKA and Rachel D. SPIKER.

HILL, SEMANS. John HILL b 1760/1770 married ca 1799 ?PA to Rebecca SEMANS b 1777 Kent Co MD. Rebecca's brother Simon SEMANS res Washington County PA 1796-1799, leasing land from Zephaniah BEALL. A Joseph HILL came from Ireland 1766 with brothers John and William, purchased land in Washington County 1788. A John HILL purchased land in 1790 "next door" to Zephaniah BEALL and Joseph HILL in Bethlehem twp, Washington county. Was this John the brother of Joseph??? Joseph had a son John too young (age 5) to own property in 1790. Rebecca SEMANS may have been living with brother Simon Semans ca 1796-1799 when she met & married John HILL. (First 3 children born PA, no marriage record found in PA, MD, VA). In 1809 John and Rebecca HILL res Jefferson County OH; in 1810 they res Brooke County VA (later WVA); in 1812 they settled for good in Highland County OH. Seek origins of John HILL: Was he brother of Joseph Hill; did he purchase land next door to Joseph Hill in Bethlehem twp; other land/marriage/court records for my John Hill in Washington County PA ???? NOTE: My John Hill was NOT related to John Hill son of Gideon Hill of Somerset twp, Washington County PA.

I am seeking ALL researching ALL descendants of Amos and Hannah (RICE) MILNER. The earliest known mention of Amos is in what is today western Pennsylvania (Washington, Greene, and Westmoreland Counties). On the 1850 federal census he listed his birth place as Virginia. Amos went from Pennsylvania to Fayette county, Kentucky, then to Bracken county Kentucky, then to Fayette county Indiana where he and Hannah died. His three children had already moved to Fayette County Indiana when Amos moved there. His descendants went to Rush Co., Shelby Co., Putnam Co., Huntington Co.,Franklin Co., and Union Co., IN among others. Lewis MAKAMAN,(with spellings Maugherman, Mocherman, or variations.) The 1800 Washington Co. Pa, census shows Lewis Makaman, in West Bethlehem, Twp. with his wife and 8 children. The 1810 census he is in Columbiana Co., Oh. The children listed in Stark Co. Oh, are George, Henry, John, Adam, Abraham, daughters Magdelena Friend, Katrina Ludig, Ester Carrich. His wife is Est(h)er as well. I do not know when born, married, but Lewis died in 1829 in Stark Co. Oh. The most specific location I know is West Bethlehem Twp. Do not know parents. If anyone can help me with Lewis`s parents, immigration date and which country and when, or any other information I`d be most greatful. Lewis Sr. is my gggg grandfather! Thanks!!

Margaret DUNCAN, daughter of Daniel DUNCAN (b 1816, PA; d 1887-1905, WV) and Susan SELLERS (b 1820), married Charles GREY (or Gray) of Washington Co, PA. Margaret was born in 1843. Their daughter, Annie L. GREY, lived on Shadeland Ave, Pittsburgh, operating a Typewriter Sales. Our family last heard from her around 1945. Other children of Margaret and Charles were Elmira and Charles. Other children of Daniel and Susan were: Mary Elizabeth (m. David FLETCHER), Isabella McCloud (m. Rev. John MCELFISH), and William Alexander (m. Susan Ann WELLS). Would appreciate any information about any of these family members. Have reached a dead end!

I am the grandaughter of Frank & Agnes Ostrog. I am looking for any information on Frank Ostrog, born Jan 15,1860 in Conewitz,Germany. Emmigrated to this country in 1898 or 1900 to Rachiff,in Westmoreland Co.,Pa.Had 2 sons and a daughter. Frank was born in Latrobe as was a sister Rosalyn.He moved to Marianna,Pa in Washington Co., West bethlehem Twp. Bought a home from the Donora Improvement Co, in 1912. Another son, Albert was born in 1910 in Marianna, Pa. He married Agnes Pomikala in 1916. they resided in Marianna until their deaths. She in 1932 and he in 1938. I am trying to fin any information on him regarding Naturalization petition of Intent, passenger list, anything that may give me a lead to further my research on my family This was put in once before in Sept. 96. Pa. about 1890 until there deaths. their Children were John Henry Smith, dob. 5-4-90, married Myrtle Lee Howell ( also her family was from Washington Co.) on 7-10-1909. Frederick (Seth?), dob. 12-11-1895, married Rose Lake in Detroit. Charles Herbert (went by Herb) born 1897, married Irma. Sarah(went by Sadie) married Fred Brice, Pearl married Walter Knack, and Grace married Arnold Knack. John and Myrtle lived in Washington until about 1930, and raised most of their children there, Elizabeth, John Herbert (Herbie), Lydia, Valda, Betty, Gerald and Geraldine who are twins. Also looking for Myrtle's family. Her father was William Henry HOWELL and her mother was Sarah Elizabeth KING. Sarah had at least 3 brothers (John, William, and Alford), and 5 sisters but I only have first names for Nan (Married a Brownlee), Allie and Ida (they both married Blaney's), the other sisters were Mrs. Harry Turner, and Mrs. Scott Hauhn. Myrtle's siblings were William Howell who lived in Washington until his death in 1959 (his daughter Peg was married to Hess also lived there)., Ann married a Miller, John, Effie married a Spier, Pheobe married an Ewart, and James Franklin (Frank) married Anna Moyer and they had 2 daughters, Murlene and Wilta. Looking for information on Spencer Ellwood ELLIOTT born 1852, married (1)Mary HEADLEY and(2)Hester SPROWLS born 1859. Spencer and Hester moved to Colorado with his mother, Anne or Anna, @ 1905. I'm looking for any information on Reason (or Rezin) RAGAN/REAGAN (b. 1751, Frederick Co., VA., d. 1800, Fayette Co., PA) and his brother Weldon RAGAN/REAGAN. They're found in the 1790 census living next to each other. Reason married Rachel CONNELL in Frederick Co., VA and moved to Fayette Co. I believe Reason is the father of William RAGAN (b. ca 1795, PA., d. bef 1880, Hardin Co., IL). William was my 3g-grandfather. William married Mary LEEPER (b. ca 1806, PA., d. aft 1880, Hardin Co., IL). William & Mary are found in the 1830 census in Washington Co., PA.
