There is a possibility that Lydia had a sister named Grace. Lydia Jane Holmes married John Henry Smith (the son of Peter Smith and Harriett de Werle) around 1889. Looking for any information about a Lydia Lafferty who lived in Washington Co, PA. Family stories say she was an orphan. I have found her in three census records so far, and either someone was lying about her age, or they didn't know how old she was. In 1860, she was listed as 12 years old, living with a family named Dennison. In 1870, she was listed as 26 years old, and living with Jane Dennison as a domestic servant. Mrs Dennison was a widow by then. In both of these records, she lived near her future husband, James H. Skiles who was living with his parents, James P. and Martha Skiles. By 1880, James and "Liddie" Skiles were married and had 3 of their children. She was shown as being 26 by then. I'm thinking that possibly she lied here because she would have been older than her husband. I haven't found her date of death yet, but it had to be between 1893 (when her youngest daughter was born) and 1910, when her husband was listed as a widower. I am looking for possible parents of Lydia Lafferty, and wondering what became of them.

Family history says that my GGGrandfather, Quillian DEBRULAR came to this country from France sometime in the late 1800's and settled in Washington Co., PA. He married Rebecca Marquis (daughter of James Marquis) and they had several children but the only one we have any knowledge about is their youngest. His name is John Morgan DEBRULAR born in Washington CO. PA in 1843. Not much is known about them until Rebecca, James and John Morgan moved to a small community near Toll Gate, WV sometime between 1844 & 1859. John Morgan joined the Union Army in Brooke County, VA in 1860. He was assigned to Company "D" stationed at Toll Gate guarding the railroad. We have no further info concerning Quillian except that we feel he is buried near Bedford, PA. James Marquis passed away in 1868 and Rebecca in 1880. Both are buried in this area. John Morgan married Susan Jane Waldo. Both lived the rest of their years in this area and became a very promient person. He passed away in 1924. Susan passed away in 1934. After that he moved to Harrison Co., Ohio and then to Vinton Co. Ohio where he lived until his death. I am not sure of years but believe their daughter Lydia Cordelia MORGAN was born in Ohio on May 2, 1867. She married my great-grandfather Charles Brim COOK in Ohio. Hudson, Hutson. Looking for any information on Isaac Hutson and John Hutson. Isaac moved to Trumbull Co. Ohio in 1805 from Hundington Co. Pa. John turned up in Trumbull Co in 1811. Believe either of these may have been the father of Anna Hutson married to Alexander McClary, [McCleery, McCleary and other spellings.] Both Alexander and Anna were born around 1804 . Isaac had a large family of 5 sons and 6 daughters. If anyone has any information on any of these family names please contact me. I am looking for info for information for Tom Jones My name is Thomas Wilson Jones (Tom). I am the Sheriff of Thomas County, Kansas. I am looking for my great grandfather William Jones. In reviewing the 1860 census of Washington County, Pa. ,we found a William Jones and a Sarah Jones who had four children. The last two being males (William I. and Wilson). Now let me give you a brief history of the Jones family of Thomas County, Ks. My fathers name is Wilson David Jones. He had two brothers and a sister. The brothers names were William Issac Jones and Sidney Marion Jones. The sister was Etta M. Jones. Their fathers name was Wilson D. Jones and his brothers name was William I. Jones. Both birthdates correspond with those of William I. and Wilson found in the 1860 Washington County census. (Buffalo Township). I know nothing of my great grandfather William Jones except that he died approximately in the year of 1878 in Washington Co. Pa. Do you have access to any death records or cemetery records of that time? Also, we believe he had two wives Sarah and Mary. Sarah being listed wife on the census and also mother of William I. and Wilson. However, on his marriage license, my grandfather Wilson, has Mary listed as his mother.

Seeking information about Jacob RUSH and wife Lydia (d. of Nathaniel and Hannah (?) BELL) thought to be early pioneers (1760-1770) of the Castile Run Section of Morgan Twp., now Greene Co., previous to 1796, Washington Co. PA. According to Leckey's "Ten Mile Country" Jacob may be from Virginia or New Jersey. They were married ca. 1760/70, possibly in Virginia. They had many children, among which, was Elizabeth RUSH (m. Isaac Allen ca. 1790, moved to Butler Co. Ohio around 1800) Jacob and Lydia died in the 1820s and are buried in Castile Run. Do not know Jacob's parents, siblings place of origin, etc. Any RUSH researchers for this area, please contact me!

Searching for information on the parentage, siblings, and place of origin of Isaac ALLEN (b. 1760-70 New Jersey ?) who married Elizabeth RUSH (daughter of Jacob RUSH and Lydia BELL) around 1790 possibly in Washington Co. PA or in Virginia?. They had ten children, four of whom, Thomas, Stephen, John, and David were born in Washington/Greene Co. PA. Morgan Twp. area between 1790- 1800. The family is listed in the 1798 tax list, Greene Co. Pa, Morgan Twp as having 83 acres adjoining the properties of Abel MANN and Benjamin BELL. Isaac and Elizabeth sold their property on Ten Mile Creek in 1803, but may have moved to Butler Co. Ohio by 1800. Isaac's father was said to be a Thomas ALLEN of Sussex Co. New Jersey. But I found a Thomas ALLEN in the 1790 census for Washington CO. PA in Morgan TWP that I feel could be his father. If anyone has info. to the contrary please let me know. Nancy, Betzy. Wife dau. Margaret. Daughter Elizabeth md. Aaron CORY on 4/22/1799. Aaron and Elizabeth moved to Crawford Co., OH. There is some connection between the Washington Co. I am looking for any information on Robert THORNTON (born before 1760). Robert's 2nd son Henry was born in Western PA in 1775. Robert then migrated down the Ohio River and was one of the 1st settlers of what is now Parkersburg, WV (Wood Co). Robert died in 1800. His sons and their descendants lived in the Wood- Jackson-Mason County area of WV.

Greetings to all! I am having problems with finding information on my ggggrandfather and ggggrandmother. This is what I have so far: Abraham BURT was born 12 Apr 1805 in Washington Co., PA, Bethiah (I believe the spelling is correct) RUSH was born 20 Oct 1806 in Washington Co., PA. They were married 6 Sep 1826 in Washington Co., PA. After this, I have hit a brick wall. My nose still hasn't straightened out! Forward from this, they moved to Ohio and started their family, then moved to Wisconsin where they finished their family. All of the generations after that have been in the IA-MN-WI area. I have exhausted the resources at the Dallas Public Library, which is considered a fine place to do research in genealogy. If someone in the area in Pennsylvania would be willing to pass on any information, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

OLEJAR -- Anna, Margaret, Joseph, Caroline (siblings). Anna married Eli Delich in 1927, 1928 or 1929, in Allegheny County, and had three children: Michael, John and Sophie. Joseph moved to Erie County. It is their father and mother I am looking for, but do not have first names. Margaret married Michael Adams.

FOR(E)MAN, joseph. He and his family lived in the Pigeon Creek area 1700's. Need his father and mother. He tried to inlist to fight in the Revolution but was six months too young. His stepfather brought him home. We do not know the stepfather's name. Joseph grew up in that area moving into Virginia as an adult. I do not know if the family went with him or stayed there on Pigeon Creek. Some members of the For(e)man group stayed in the northern part of Virginia which became Hampshire County West Virginia. Joseph went on further south into what became Kentucky and is on the 1790 tax list of Cox's Creek, Nelson County, Kentucky. He married Rebecca FRYE either in Virginia or Pennsylvania. Years later he gave a deposition for Vincent COLVIN. whom he knew in Washington County Pennsylvania. All help greatly appreciated!

Looking for info on John Henry , son of Robert and Ann Little-Henry. They lived in South Strabane Township. This John is mentioned in Beer's biographical Record of Washington County Pennsylvania , along with his siblings .... all deceased at the time of 'the' writing (in 1893).They attended the Seceder church of Pigeon Creek. I believe this John Henry could be my G-G grandfather whom was born in Pennsylvania , that much I do know. I have traced back to Indiana where he was married , thus far. The whole clan lived in Washington County , if this is my guy I've hit the jackpot!
