Jean Suplick Matuson
The
Washington County, Pennsylvania pages were developed and are currently
maintained by Jean Suplick Matuson of Plano, Texas. They represent Washington
Co., Pennsylvania in the PAGenWeb Project, a non-profit, volunteer organization.
Jean's ancestors
were among the original pioneers who settled in what is now Washington
County, and she has been doing research locally and long-distance for several
years. Jean grew up in Washington
County, attending the Canon-McMillan schools and later graduating from
West Virginia University. She has worked in the computer industry twelve
years. Jean is a member of the HTML Writers Guild.
David Boyd Jr.
In December 1997, another volunteer joined us to manage the PAWASHIN email discussion group. David Boyd, Jr. was born New Eagle, raised/educated in McKeesport, and graduated from the Univ. of Pittsburgh. In addition to his interest in researching his family's roots, Dave has musical hobbies too. Until recently, Dave was the lead singer in "Sentimental Journey", a barbershop quartet, and he sings in his church choir where his wife was organist & choir director.
Dave Boyd will be moving to Greenville SC in August. While he will still be singing, he will not be with Sentimental Journey. He is the treasurer for the 1000 member House of Boyd Society, a genealogical group interested in the Boyd surname.
Gina Nestor
In May 1998, Gina Nestor took over management of the new cemeteries database. This means we will all be able to take advantage of research that Gina has done into the backgrounds of the local cemeteries. Gina lives in Washington Co., PA and is an active member of the Genealogical Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania. She is also a frequent and knowledgeable contributor to the PAWASHIN discussion group.
