I'm looking for information on my ggg-grandparents: William Ragan, b ca 1795, PA Mary Leeper(?), b ca 1806, PA They are listed in Washington Co., PA in the 1830 census with 2 daughters (under 5 yrs old). I would like to have ANY info on them, particularly their parents & the name of these 2 girls. They moved to OH ca (?) and ca 1856 moved to IL.

I'm looking for information (birth, parents, marriage, wife, children, deeds ... etc.) on Zachariah Ragan. He shows up in the 1810 Beaver Co. PA census (with 6 males under 10 yrs old, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 26-44, 1- female under 10 & 1 female 26-44) in Beaver CO. and later in Greene Co. He also shows up in the 1800 census living in Westmoreland Co. near Philip Ragan, who I suspect is his father. Philip was a Rev. War vet. He applied for a pension in 1832 while living in Huntington Twp., Westmoreland Co.

I would like to determine what the closest Catholic Church to Roscoe / Stockdale area would have been in 1900. My g-grandfather, Peter Wismann (Weisman,Wissman,Wiesman) was buried at Coal Center, Mt. Calvary Cemetery near California. St. Joseph's in Roscoe did not exist in 1900, and St. Aquinas in California has no death record for him. Trying to locate David MILLER family in Pa. during later half of 1700's. David came from Germany about 1756/8 as a 16 yr. old. On same boat was Deborah ROOK (could be RUCK,ZOOK,ZUCK). David and Deborah married in Pa. and migrated to Nelson Co., Ky. by 1797. They stayed a couple years and moved on to Marion Co., Ky. They raised 12 children--I know of David Jr., Cathy, John and Mary. Other possible children are Jacob, Lewis, Samuel, Nancy, and Elizabeth---not sure on these yet. One problem is that I don't know David and Deborah's parents' names.

One clue to finding them are linkages to other Nelson Co. families that came from Pa. One is Jacob Miller b.3/15/1764 in Washington Co., Pa. and came to Ky. in 1785. He married Elizabeth MASTERSON (b. abt 1766) who migrated from Pa. with her brother Zachariah. The other family is James CRAVENS who left Somerset Twp, Washington Co., Pa. about 1786 for Nelson Co.,Ky. He married Nancy Miller (about 1790) who is sister of Jacob Miller. Would appreciate any help in locating David and Deborah.

Looking for any information on Michael SOPKO who was married to Mary C MAZUR. They were found in the 1920 census, saying they immigrated in 1905 from Slovak Land. They had 9 children, and all but the last was born in Star Junction, Washington County, PA. The childrens names were Steve, Mary, Helen, John, Frank Joseph, William Vincent, Andrew John, and Catherine Sopko. Catherine was born in Cleveland Aug 21, 1925. Their first child ( Steve ), was born in Star Junction July 31, 1906. So, we figure they were in Star Junction from 1905 until about 1924.

Moses DeCamp (or possibly Moses D. Camp) came to Washington Co., PA before 1798, probably with his brothers Lewis and John. Lewis and John moved on to Mahoning Co., OH by 1801. Spent a long weekend in Washington, PA; picked up some invaluable information but failed to find Samuel's final resting place. Any clues would be appreciated.

My gg-grandfather Andrew Poe MCCARRELL(1838-1908)and his wife Margaret(GILMORE) MCCARRELL(1841-1916) and Andrew's father, David MCCARRELL(c1811-1886) are all buried in Chestnut Hills Cemetery near Florence, Hanover Townshhip. All were born in Pa. Andrew's mother is listed as Bessie MILLER(born c1815) on Andrew's death certificate. I cannot locate Margaret's death certificate. In the 1850 census the adult woman in the household is listed as Ellen MCCARRELL, approxiamtely the same age as David. Andrew Poe MCCARRELL is supposedly descendent from Adam & Andrew POE(who moved to Washington County, pa in 1760s), famous early settlers in the area. I still dont know how they connect, but Adam & Andrew POE had a sister Catherine(Kate), who married Isaac Miller c1760 in MD and moved to Washington County. So I am looking for ancestors of David MCCARELL, Margaret GILMORE, Bessie MILLER, and descendents of Isaac and Catherine(Kate)(POE) MILLER. I also want to know if Bessie(MILLER) MCCARRELL and Ellen MCCARRELL are the same, or if Ellen may have been another wife of David's. Interestingly, neither is buried in Chestnut Hills.

Looking for information about L.D. Smith who died about 1914. I have only two pieces of information about him. First, his name appears on a headstone in Chartiers Hill Church Cemetery, along with that of Ellen Lutton Smith. Second, in Caldwell's Atlas of Washington Co. (1880?), his name appears on a lot in the map of Canonsburg. I've been unable to locate any census records for L.D. Smith. I did find a record for an Ellen Smith, married, of approximately the correct age, as an inmate in the "County Home" in 1880. She was listed as "insane". I'm not sure if this is the same woman.
