I'm looking for information about the parents of Alexander Ross. He was born in Washington County, PA on 20 Jan 1805. By 1828 he was in Kentucky where he married Evaline Fowler (b. in Fayette Co.). He and Evaline moved to Ohio in about 1830 and back to Kentucky about 1835 before settling in Louisa Co. IA in 1837. There he became a locally prominant public official. Alexander died in Grandview, Louisa Co., IA 18 Feb 1886. Does anyone know who Alexander's parents were?

Seeking information on John COLLIER, son of Isaac COLLIER,II and Elizabeth CRESAP. John was said to have been born in Va, reared in Kentucky, and returned to Maryland as a young man where he worked as a Wagoneer. He was the original proprietor of the old tavern at Mt. Augusta on the "Old Pike" from 1805 to death, in 1857. He purchased a farm in addison Township, Somerset Co., in 1810 from George Miller. This land was later sold to his daughter Maria and her husband Samual Frazee.
