This seems to be an unusual one. I found a marginal notation in a Hungarian churchbook indicating that my ggrandparents were married 'in America' and returned to Hungary. The information given for the marriage is: Date: September 6, 1892 Groom: Dezso SOLTESZ Bride: Agnes VADAS The problem is that I do not know where 'in America' the marriage occurred. I have identified the following likely states/counties based on analysis of census and SSDI records for SOLTESZ and VADAS: Connecticut: Fairfield, New Haven. Pennsylvania: Erie, Beaver, Allegheny, Washington. Ohio: Ashtabula, Trumbull, Harrison, Jefferson, Cuyahoga, Licking. I would really appreciate help from anyone with access to these county records. My grandfather's name was William FENTON Bilderback. I am curious about how he got his middle name. His mother was Amanda Amelia Pyles (1844- 1916). Her sister, Elizabeth Ann Pyles b. about 1834 was married about 1862 to a William Fenton, so I suppose my grandfather who was born in 1867 was named after this uncle. Jacob DEBOLT, born in Germany, married Catherine Ruch, also born in Germany. Have no birth date, possibly died ca January 7, 1892 according to WV papers that his son, Jacob, has gone to Pittsburgh to attend the funeral of his father. Would like to obtain an obituary notice, and also information on when Catherine died. The only member of the family that I have is Jacob born either Nov. 2, 1837/1838. He came to West Virginia and married Cassinda Gray on April 15, 1868. He had been married before because listed as widower on marriage certificate. Would appreciate any information on this family. I am looking for anybody from the HOOPENGARNER/HOOPINGARNER family. There seems to be a Daniel HOOPENGARNER that I have some data on, that crosses with another Daniel HOOPENGARNER. His children seem to be born in Lawrence Co. IN from 1836-1860. One of his sons was Preston HOOPENGARNER, my GG grandfather. I am looking for Thomas MILLS who is supposed to have been born in Washington Co abt 1780. He married Hannah WYNN, time and place unknown. His son, Jonathan Wynn MILLS is also supposed to have been born in Washington Co on 15 Oct 1813. The Mills family moved to Tuscarawas Co, OH where Thomas MILLS died abt 1836. Jonathan may have had two brothers -- James and William. Jonathan was renowned as a preacher of the Methodist Episcopal Church so I believe that Thomas and Hannah were probably members of that church in Pennsylvania. Looking for information on a George FELTON who was born in South Wales in about 1877 and came to America with parents, George FELTON and Ann PROTHERO FELTON in about 1878.
