I am seeking information on the family of Robert WALKER who lived in Donegal Township, Washington Co., PA in 1782. His wife, referred to as Mrs. Walker in history books was captured by Indians March 27, 1782 off the waters of Buffalo Creek but managed to escape. I am interested in learning all I can about this event. Their son, John Walker, came to Ohio around 1808.

Seeking any information on any PETERS families who were in Washington Co. 1750 on. William "Indian" Peters was probably a Conestoga Indian - his wife was "white". William "Indian" Peters (and wife Mary) had known children: William; Joseph; Peter; Elizabeth Mahala; Stephen (and possibly Henry). William (Indian) Peters died about 1781 and his widow married EBENEZER FOOTE. The daughter, Elizabeth Mahala married first: BUFFINGTON and had three children - then married Mr. BUTLER. Widow Peters and new husband, Ebenezer FOOTE, and Elizabeth Peters Buffington Butler, her children, and Stephen Peters went to Indiana about 1795. Believe that eldest son, William and son, Peter remained in or near Washington Co. Seeking descendants of any of the Peters family from that era and any information whatsoever regarding "Indian" Peter. Also, was Ebenezer Foote married before marrying Mary Peters? If so, to whom, and who were his children? Thank you very much.

Looking for the parents and siblings of my GGGrandfather, George Washington GRUBBS, b. 1845 Indiana Co. His mother was Jane GRAHAM b. 1829, daughter of William and Prudence (GREEN GETTY) GRAHAM. His father was believed to be a Jacob GRUBBS but I have no other information on him. The Graham family traveled between Indiana Co. and Ohio (county unknown). At least two of their children were born in Ohio. There is a strong possibility Jacob may have been from Washington or Greene Counties. I am trying to find out information on my great great grandfather Marcus
M. DILLEY he was born in Washington County 25 Dec 1833.
I found he was put into the Orphan Court Oct 1837, at that time the mother
Margaret DAVIS ask the court to place to have some person take charge of
Marcus"s person and estate. David PEDEN was appointed. It was said in
one of the court papers that Marcus's father was John DILLE. They lived in
Dougal twp. Marcus went westward in his young manhood. Living in Iowa
and then in Nodaway County Missouri. Where he built a home and raised his
family of four sons. His wife was Catherine KNISLEY his sons were:
William Sherman, Chester Elsworth, Eugene, and Edward. Any help would be
most grateful, as I have been searching many years.

On 19 Nov 1813, Thomas GILSON, husband of Nancy BOYD, died when he
drowned in the Juniata river (that part of Milford Twp. that would become
Turbett in Mifflin County, Penn.). Nancy's father, David BOYD, had
removed to Washington County several years earlier (autuum 1794) and
lived on a farm 9 miles west of Washington on the West Middleton Rd.
David was a member of the Upper Buffalo Church and was elected as Justice
of the Peace for Hopewell Twp. in 1813.
It is not know exactly when the widow Nancy BOYD Gilson came to
Washington County, but we know she married a Thomas MCKEE. In the will
of David BOYD, dated 25 May 1825, he names his eldest daughter Nancy
McKee.
Can anyone tell me about the MCKEE family of Washington County? The will
of John MCKEE of Hopewell, dated 14 July 1825, mentions a brother Thomas.
Is there anyone out there that is researching these names? Could there
be a record of Nancy's marriage to this Thomas MCKEE?

Researching ancestors of Samuel WELCH b.June 17,1828 Westmoreland Co.,Pa.
d.July 1,1909, buried in Fairview Cemetery in McKeesport,Pa. beside his
wife Barbara (SMULL) WELCH. According to death certificate Samuel is the
son of Samuel WELCH and Elizabeth FEATHERS. Elizabeth FEATHERS was born
in 1796 Pa. Can't find Samuel WELCH Sr. anywhere. When and where >1850
did Elizabeth die? (Found her on the 1850 Pa. census). Any info on Samuel
WELCH Sr., Elizabeth FEATHERS, or Barbara SMULL needed. Have all family
info from Samuel WELCH Jr. (9 children) to 5th generation.

The Harsh family line arrived in this country in 1739 & 1740. The
first generation were Germans, but after a generation, the Protesant
Irish immigrated in great numbers amongst the Germans. They inter-
married freely and thus we became German-Irish
The first to arrive: Conrad H. Harsh age 49 arrived 8-27-1739 on a ship
named Samuel Lydia. With him was Phillip Hirsch, (list B) Philip Hersch,
(list c) Philip Hersh, age 22
On 09-27-1740 arrrived Simon Hersh (list B) Simon Hirsch (list C) Simon
Hirsh, age 18. and Johannes Hersh age 6. All attended the German Luthern
Church. The first Harsh family settled in the German Colony, some 50
miles north and west of Philadelphia.
By 1774, the family is shown in Upper Salford Township, Philadelphia
County, (now Montgomery County), PA. The PA Military Records show three
sons, George, John Henry, and Philip served in the Revolutionary War.
One brother was lost, being Philip.
Simon Harsh, in 1780, moved his family to Washington County, PA. His
brother John Henry Harsh, Sr. joined him in Washington County, PA,
Bethlehem Township, in 1795. He left behind all his daughters, then
married, and a son, Elias Hersh, were he lived on the original Harsh
homestead, in the Old German Community of Allentown, PA.

My g-g-g Grandfather was John FARLEY, b. 1807 Washington Co. PA.
His wife (marriage date ?) was Lavina SUTTON, b. 1805 or 1811 in
same. They migrated later to Ohio, where their children were born.
Among their children was Rachel FARLEY (b. about 1840?).
Looking for any information regarding ancestors of John FARLEY or
Lavina SUTTON. By the way, our family legend has it that John FARLEY
was a MOHAWK Indian who left the tribe and changed his name from
BIRD FAR AWAY. Were their Mohawks in the Wasington Co. are at
