    My gggrandfather,Abalard Hamilton married Mary Jane Levery and they lived in Buffalo Twp. and Hopewell Twp. in Washington Co. from the early 1800's to after 1870 .They then moved to Midway in Washington Co. Abalard died in 1899. I am looking for both of their parents. They had 11 children, Agnes,Thomas,Ann,Margaret,Robert,Mary,Martha,my ggrandmother,John,Sarah,William and Wilson.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Looking for David BROWN jr. family of Washington County, PA circa 1844. His parents were David and Margaret BROWN who lived nr Ligonier in Westmoreland County, 1815-1829. In 1844, David Jr. and his widowed mother sold the Ligonier land. David Jr is listed as from Washington County; his mother, Margaret Brown, was recorded as living in Allegheny Co PA. Nothing else is known of David Jr. other than his sister Hannah was married to a John Fuller.

    Am a descendant of John BRYSON and Priscilla Lefevre. John was a rev war Lieutenant in the Penn Line. Moved to Washington Co after the war, had a large family, and died in Donegal TWP in 1822. My line goes through his daughter, Margaret (1769-1851), who married a John LOW/LOWE (ca 1765-1836). I have a photocopy of John BRYSON's will and list of deed actions of John LOWE and Margaret BRYSON. Also have copies of DAR applications from three persons who have entered the DAR on John Bryson's service. I believe that John LOW/LOWE was from Washington Co also, but have no proof. He and Margaret moved to Monroe Co, OH after their marriage and died there. Am looking for any info on BRYSON or LOW(E) lines.

    Like many descendants, my ancestors were in Washington/Greene Counties PA in the 1700-1800s.
    My Downings and Lauglins were at or near Old Fort Redstone circa 1775-76. My Cowell ancestor, Elizabeth, was in Whitely twp, Greene County, PA as were my Bowers ancestors. The Hunter family is a real mystery. They are said to have lived in Wahsington or Greene County and later moved to the W.VA. panhandle in Berkeley County. My oldest known ancestor was Lewis Hunter, b. 1801 presumably in Berkeley Co, W.VA. Among his first born sons were George and John Sloan Hunter. Any information other researchers have will be appreciated. I have a great deal of additional Hunter information from Virginia and Ohio. Thanks

    I am searching for any information about my grandmother Susan Cecelia Hamilton Winn. Her father's name was John Winn, and her mother's name was Margaret Hamilton. Susan had three sisters and two brothers. They were Guy, John C., Ellen, Elizabeth, and Anna. Her family was catholic and I've been told she was born in England. Susan had my father James Clifford (Winn or Clegg) in Charlori PA on September 7th 1906. Her father John was born in 1856 and died 1943. Her mother Margaret Hamilton was born in 1862 and died in 1927. My father James Clifford Clegg died in 1963. I believe my father was born before Susan married Casper Robert Clegg. However my father's siblings don't seem to want to help with this information. Only to say they were half brothers. Please if anyone can help me solve this mystery, I would appreciate any information.

    Edward Mains immigrated from Ireland early 1800s to Washington Co. PA, married Margaret Young of Brooke Co., VA.. Son Charles' obit states that Charles was born March 12, 1824 near Buffalo Church. His brothers and sisters also born in PA were Thomas 1820, John 1828, Mary 1826, and Belle 1830. The family moved to Richland Co. Ohio in 1832 and Edward died there in 1835. Can anyone help me locate some records on this family?

    Looking for info on my great grandparents, Jacob Gehrlein and Elizabeth Platts, and his second wife, Catherine Gaus. Jacob and Cathrine married in 1896 and owned the Century Inn in Scenery Hill from abt.1910 to 1945. Elizabeth died in 1893. Jacob died in 1928. I have been told Elizabeth's father's name was Ignatius. Jacob came to Scenery Hill in the 1860's. He was a blacksmith but I know little of his background.

    GEORGE McCOMBS Who is Rachel McCombs parents
    In the "History of the Pan-Handle, West Virginia" this being a Historical
    Collections of the counties of Ohio, Brooke, Marshall and Hancock, W.Va.
    published by J.A. Caldwell 1879.
    There was the article: GEORGE McCOMBS- Mr.McCombs was born in County
    Derry, Ireland, and immigrated to America before the revolutionary war,
    leaving his family behind him, in Emerald Isle, with the intention of
    returning for them. But the high seas being blocked at time, he was
    compiled to stay. He enlisted in the American army, and braved the
    trials and hardships of a true soldier, until the close of the war. The
    blockade being raised, he sent for his family, who joined him soon
    after. He settled in Washington county, Pennsylvania, and remained
    there until his death. His family then moved to Ohio county, Va.
    (W.Va), about the year 1800. His two sons, James and John, grew up to
    be men of unusual size, James being considered the most muscular man in
    the state. James and John both were married here, and each had a family
    of twelve children. Many of the families are still living in Sherrard,
    Marshall County. John joined the Presbyterian church when quite young
    and was a devout christian.
    In my notes:George and wife Martha is buried in Cannonsburg, Pa. about
    1818. George had a Will in Chartiere Township, Washington Co. Pa.

    James McCombs married Hannah Smith and John McCombs 1783-1865 married
    Rachel Buchanon.
    My gg grandmother was Rachel McCombs b. 1820 in
    Sherrard, Marshall County, Va (W.Va.) Who are her parents?
    Rachel McCombs married William Carr in 1835. I know she had a brother
    George McCombs. Does anyone know the children of John and James McCombs?

    I am searching for information about John Owen and his brother James. Several resources state that John had a fort and a store of sorts in Morgan T. on Ruff Creek.
