George N. Porter, 79, of Greensburg, died Thursday, November 13, 1997, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Mr. Porter was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by McKesson & Robbins Drug Co. of Canton, Ohio. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Destroyer Escort Association. He was married to Zita J. Ringer Porter, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Nancy Porter Well of Juneau, Alaska; two granddaughters, Vanessa and Charlotte; two brothers, Russell of Pitcairn and Howard T. Porter of Pasadena, Md.; three sisters, Kae Cedar of Pasadena, Nettie Zaorski of Elyria, Ohio, and Della Cochran of Rices Landing; and several nieces and nephews.
