Willa McMinn Rizer, 88, of Madison, Ohio, formerly of Carmichaels, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 1997, at the home of her daughter, Harriet Walters in Madison. Mrs. Rizer was a member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels and the Greene County Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She served as past president of the Crucible Council of Republican Women and was an active member of the Republican Party. Mrs. Rizer was a former member of the former Lady Penn Rebekas Lodge of Carmichaels. She graduated from the former Raes School in 1924 and was a member of Cumberland Township High School class of 1928. Mrs. Rizer lived in Carmichaels most of her life and worked for about 10 years in the cosmetic department of Sun Drug in Waynesburg. Her husband, Harry Edward Rizer, whom she married October 28, 1927, died March 23, 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Patty Curtis of Greenville, Texas, and Harriet Walters of Madison; six grandchildren, Linda Curtis Pettingill, Mark Walters, Frank Walters Jr., J.P. Walters and Thomas and Steve Curtis; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nellie M. Block of Nemacolin; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
