William Alfred Patterson, 85, of 53 South Morris Street, Waynesburg, died at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 1997, at his home. He was born April 9, 1912, in Rogersville, a son of Hal W. and Elizabeth Cole Patterson. Mr. Patterson lived his entire life in Greene County, and was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church in Oak Forest. Mr. Patterson owned and operated a turkey farm near Oak Forest for several years. For 30 years, he owned and operated Patterson Floor and Wall in Waynesburg. After his retirement, Mr. Patterson owned and maintained several rental properties in Waynesburg. Mr. Patterson was a member of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge No. 153 F&AM and a former member of Waynesburg Elks Lodge No. 757. He is survived by his wife, Clarice Phillips Patterson, whom he married May 18, 1939; a daughter, Willa Lee Brooks of Waynesburg; a son, Howard "Jack" Patterson of Plymouth, Mich.; two grandsons, James Douglas Patterson and Michael Patterson; and a brother, Arthur L.
