James W. Brownlee, 61, of 685 North Main Street, Houston, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 23, 1997, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Brownlee had lived most of his life in Houston and had been a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. He had served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War where he received five Purple Hearts and two Silver Stars. He was a retired self-employed electrician. He was a member of the Catholic Mens Club of St. Patrick Parish, the Marine Corps League of Bethel Park and American Legion Post 902 in Houston. On November 10, 1956, he married Arlene Dami, who died August 15, 1990. Surviving is a son, Randy Brownlee at home; one daughter, Kelly Hoover of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Corey and Sara Hoover; three sisters, Margaret Suhay of Washington, Tiny Cummings Claysville and Janet Boardley of Pensacola, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
