Genevieve C. Wolf, 97, of 95 Crest Vue Drive, Washington, died Saturday, November 22, 1997. Mrs. Wolf attended local schools and was a 1920 graduate of Washington High School. In 1920, she married George F. Wolf, who died April 17, 1985. Mrs. Wolf was employed by the former Caldwell's store on Main Street, Washington. She also was the earned-income tax collector and secretary for South Strabane School District. Mrs. Wolf was a member of First Baptist Church, Washington, for more than 75 years. She was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, a descendant of John Howland. Mrs. Wolf was past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 409. Surviving are two sons, William F. and Robert G. Wolf, both of Washington; nine grandchildren, Kristine A., Douglas W., Gary F. and Robert G. Wolf Jr., Carol L. Crawford, Greg A. and Thomas E. Wolf, Amanda Bowen and Janet Herbert; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Clutter of Florida and Marian Graham of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Oliver, Arthur and Francis Shivers; and three sisters, Naomi Cheneworth, Della Headley and Elizabeth Naser. Copyright ©1997 Observer Publishing Co.
