Mildred Virginia "Midge" Emerson, 92, of Washington County Health Center, Washington, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 1997, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Emerson was a chef at the former Lou Kairy's Restaurant in Peters Township for 18 years. She was a member of AARP and a former member of Washington Senior Citizens. Surviving are a son, Jack Emerson of Iowa; a daughter, Mary Lou Ryan of Washington; a brother, Lawrence Schroeder of Annapolis, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
