Ivan D. Edgar, 83, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, in Washington Hospital. Mr. Edgar was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington. He attended Waynesburg schools, and prior to his retirement, worked for Universal Cyclops, Bridgeville. On October 24, 1970, in Washington, he married Eleanor Hawkins Areford. Mrs. Edgar survives. He was previously married to Elsie Morris Edgar. Surviving, in addition to his wife, is one son, Jacob I. Edgar of Waynesburg; two stepsons, Robert Areford of Washington and Richard Areford of Uniontown; two daughters, Linda A. Welch and Barbara J. Loar, both of Prosperity; six grandchildren, William Reedy, Robert Reedy, Stacy Edgar, Daniel Welsh, Robert Areford and Shawn Areford; and six great-grandchildren.
