Samuel Francis Sprando, 47, formerly of Burgettstown, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, in the Christopher's Personal Care Home of Washington, where he had been living. Mr. Sprando attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and Burgettstown High School, class of 1969, and was a graduate of Penn Commercial College of Washington. Mr. Sprando was a well known area musician. He played for many years with Buddy Sharp and the Shakers during the '70s. Surviving in addition to his mother, are two sisters, Sandra Lee Sprando De Vetis of Hickory, and Joanne Angela Sprando Shergi of Acme; a niece, Angela De Vetis Minton of Canonsburg; and two nephews, John Alan Shergi of Indianapolis, Ind., and John Salvatore De Vetis of Houston. Burgettstown man was a well known area musician
He was born April 2, 1951, in Washington, a son of Wanda Gavazzi Sprando of Bulger, and the late Sam "Santo" Sprando, who died July 15, 1983.
