She was born December 20, 1936, in Labelle, a daughter of the late Fred and Velma Colbert Ross. On July 16, 1965, she married Ralph "J.R." Visnesky, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Christina Knestrick of Nemacolin, and Angela Visnesky of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Anthony Ross of Mather, John and Joseph Ross, both of Brownsville; one sister, Ginger Lesako of Brownsville; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Knestrick and Amber Knestrick.
