John F. Litle Jr., 51, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, April 13, 1998, in Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, after a short illness. Mr. Litle was owner and CEO of Buckeye Motor Lodge, DBA Holiday Inn of Zanesville. He was a member of the Zanesville Rotary Club, Rosecrans Academic Boosters and the Ohio Hotel and Motel Association. He was a charter board member of the Muskingum County Convention and Visitors Bureau, a member of the International Association of Holiday Inns and was a 1993 Ohio Hotelier of the Year. Mr. Litle and his Holiday Inn family received the Quality Excellence Award in 1994, 1995 and 1996. Mr. Litle was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Shangri-La. Surviving are his wife, Denise E. Wein Litle, whom he married March 31, 1979; a daughter, April M. Litle, at home; a son, John F. Litle III, at home; two sisters, Anne Poulet of Boston, Mass., and Mary V. Litle of Columbus, Ohio; and a brother, David K. Litle of Granville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rosecrans Academy Boosters Hall of Fame Fund. Burial was Thursday, April 16, in Zanesville. Born June 30, 1946, in Washington, he was a son of the late J. Francis Sr. and Ruth Kurtz Litle.
