James H. Uphold III, 19, of Confluence, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Uniontown Hospital after an illness. Mr. Uphold was a member of Grace Chapel United Methodist Church of Confluence. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandparents, Louis and Rachel Leon of Canonsburg; paternal grandparents, James H. and Betty Uphold of Confluence; paternal great-grandmother, Alice Uphold of Confluence; and two sisters, Echo Uphold of Confluence and Harmony Uphold Swaney of Farmington. He was born February 24, 1979, in Meyersdale, a son of James H. "Butch" Uphold Jr. and Luann Leon Uphold of Confluence.
