Joseph John Kime Sr., 83, of Richeyville, died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 1998, in his home. Prior to his retirement in 1969, he worked as a mine foreman for Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp., Vesta No. 4 Mine, in Richeyville. Mr. Kime worked a total of 42 years in the mining industry. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and in the Military Police. He was a member of Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post 705 of Centerville. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Seman Kime; three sons, Joseph J. Kime Jr., Barry Kime and Randy Kime, all of Richeyville; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Ruble, Eric, Gregory, Aaron, Chad, Brad and Brandi Kime; a great-grandson; a brother, Anthony Kime of Richeyville; a sister, Theresa Veres of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are four brothers, John, Edward, Michael and Louis Kime; and two sisters, Anna Spitak and Elizabeth Sierra. He was born June 29, 1914, in Daisytown, a son of Bartle and Anna Zites Kime.
