Lloyd K. Hite, 66, of Locust Road, Coal Center, died at 6 a.m. Monday, April 20, 1998, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Oakland. Mr. Hite lived in Coal Center the past 10 years and was formerly of Belle Vernon. He was an active trainer at Ladbroke at The Meadows racetrack and a member of the Meadows Standardbred Horseman's Association. Mr. Hite was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the former Page Plant in Monessen He enjoyed bowling in two leagues at Tan-o-Bell Lanes in Bentleyville. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Donna Evans Hite; his stepmother, Vivian Hite of Belle Vernon; a son, Wayne Hite of Coal Center; two daughters, Janis Niemiec of Clarksville and Colleen Hite of Coal Center; a sister, Nancy Sheran of Dormont; eight grandchildren, Kris, Justin, Carter and Casey Hite, Ryne and Barry M. He was born August 24, 1931, in Donora, a son of the late Lloyd Hite and Mary Keifer Crawford, who survives in Dormont.
