Joseph H. Herman, 80, of Yohe Street, Monongahela, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, in Mon Valley Hospital. Mr. Herman was a lifelong resident of the Monongahela area and was Protestant. He was a 1935 graduate of Monongahela High School and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. Mr. Herman retired from the former U.S. Steel Corp., Clairton Works. Surviving are his wife, Emma Chaney Herman, with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage on February 24, 1998; three sons, Ronald J. Herman of Elrama, Thomas E. Herman at home and James M. Herman of Monroeville; a daughter, Cynthia L. Belavich of Belle Vernon; two grandsons, Joseph and Jeremy Belavich; a brother, William Herman of Ginger Hill; and two sisters, Freida Shannon of Venetia and Marie Herman of Carmichaels.
