Walter F. Tomecheck, 87, of Adah R.D.1, died Monday, April 6, 1998, at his home. Mr. Tomecheck was a miner for more than 50 years with Buckeye Mine and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 6290. He was also a member of St. Albert Roman Catholic Church; the German Township School Board; founding and charter member of Adah Gun Club; the German-Masontown Public Library; Adah Volunteer Fire Department; Palmer Pioneers Slovak Society; and the Boy Scouts of America. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Margaret A. Korintus Tomecheck; three daughters, Mary M. Shalek of Chareton, Ohio, Elizabeth L. Gorman of Palmer and Evelyn A. Marovic of Masontown; a son, Allan R. Vinch of Stevensville, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Mark Shalek, Debbie Zuzek, Julia Dugan, Christine Gorman, David Marovic, Tracy McKay, Donna Marovic, Celeste Magazine and Michael and Lauren Vinch; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank Tomecek of Palmer Heights and Joseph Tomecheck of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.
