Roylance Lee "Lance" Adams, 70, of Washington, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, August 9, 1998, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was employed as a plant operator by the Washington-East Washington Joint Authority for 38 years. Mr. Adams was a 1945 graduate of Trinity High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial. He enjoyed golfing. He served in the U.S. Army for two years as a corporal. Mr. Adams was a member of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22. On July 3, 1973, he married Laura Phillips, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Valerie L. Harvey and Donna L. Dyson, both of Washington; a stepdaughter, Vicki Barrett of Washington; three stepsons, Donald, James and John Barrett, all of Washington; a sister, Cleo Behanna of Washington; three grandchildren, Tracee S. Malik, Tammy M. York and Stacy L. Harvey; eight stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Deceased are five brothers, Neal, Kenneth, Floyd T., Charles E. and Eugene Adams; and three sisters, Alice Adams, Carol Plott and Louraine Morningstar.
