Richard V. Johnston, 68, of Washington, formerly of Bethel Park, died Sunday, August 9, 1998, in his home. He was a member of the West View Post 80 of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Johnston of Washington; two sons, Richard of Maryland and Steven of Virginia; a daughter, Cheryl of Arizona; a stepson, David Berie of Ohio; a stepdaughter, Diana Berie Madwar of Ohio; three brothers, Gorman of Emsworth, Norbert of Vermont and Regis of Virginia; three sisters, Barbara of Allison Park, Verna of Maryland and Coletta of Florida; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
