David K. Murdoch III, 63, of North Franklin Township, Washington, died unexpectedly at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, August 9, 1998, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Murdoch worked as a truck driver for 35 years. He was employed by Harmony Transport Inc., Ambridge, at the time of his death. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5756 of Sewickley, the American Legion Post 4 of Sewickley and the National Veterans Service Support Post 5156. Mr. Murdoch enjoyed fishing, road racing and sports. He was big football fan. He was a graduate of Sewickley Valley High School and had attended the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On January 22, 1955, he married Elizabeth (Betty) A. Lolli, who survives. Also surviving, in addition to his parents, are a daughter, Cynthia L. Miller of Washington; a son, David K. Murdoch IV of Washington; a sister, Theresa J. Brown of Munhall; two grandchildren, Alys Marie Murdoch and Ian R. Miller; and a nephew. He was born December 3, 1934, in Sewickley, a son of Joseph J. and Lois A. Murdoch Sambolt of West Mifflin.
