Verna Louise Brigode, 71, of Lover, died Monday, August 10, 1998, in her home. Mrs. Brigode was a member of Charleroi Presbyterian Church, XYZ Club of Grace United Methodist Church of Coal Center, Telephone Pioneers of America and the Senior Citizens Bowling League at Tan-O-Belle Bowling Lanes in Bentleyville. An office manager, she retired from Bell Telephone Co. with 27 years of service. Surviving are her husband, George Brigode; a daughter, Debra S. Philis of Stamford, Conn.; two sons, Richard H. Sikora and Michael Brigode, both of Charleroi; a brother, Merle Ghrist of Lover; two sisters, Josephine Anderson of Greensburg and Olive Higinbotham of Lover; and five grandchildren, Christine Philis, Dana, Kristen and Rikki Sikora, and Rachel Rischitelli.
