Paul R. (Bob) Carter of Redmond, Wash., died Friday, August 7, 1998, in his home. A graduate of Bentleyville High School and Washington and Jefferson College, he served in the U.S. Air Force at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Mr. Carter was formerly employed by the FBI and Observer Publishing Co. before relocating to Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He was owner and president of Robert Carter & Associates Public Relations Firm in Cleveland, Ohio. An accomplished writer, chosen as one of 40 to attend the Writers Retreat Conference on Maui, Hawaii, he had recently completed two full-length fiction books, which are planned for later publication. An avid hunter and sportsman, his articles were published in Outdoor Life and Field and Streams sports magazines and Pennsylvania Game News. Surviving are his wife, Ann Carter; one son, Jeff Carter of Sandy, Utah; one daughter, Tracy Carter of Novelty, Ohio; four brothers, Ben H. Carter and James B. McCullough, both of Mt. Lebanon, and Richard A. McCullough and William L. McCullough, both of Washington; one sister, Virginia L. Orlando of Washington; and two aunts, Pearl Brooks of Washington and Helen Rockwell of Lone Pine. The deceased requested cremation, and there were no services.
