M. James Hennen Jr., 80, of 519 Fourth Avenue, Waynesburg, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, following a short illness. Mr. Hennen, a jeweler at James Hennen Jewelers, was a 1935 graduate of Waynesburg High School and a 1939 graduate of Waynesburg College. He had been a 68-year member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg, served on various boards of the church and was on the committee that selected all the stained glass windows at the church in 1961. Mr. Hennen was a member of the Issac Walton League, Greene Academy of Art, and was a life member of CornerStone Genealogical Society. He also was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and was one of the founders of the Warrior Trail in Greene County. Mr. Hennen was a certified gemologist of the American Gem Society. He owned and operated with his wife the James Hennen Jewelers from 1946 until 1981. His wife, Dorothy Tennant Hennen, whom he married July 3, 1940, died April 29, 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia H. Edwards of Waynesburg; a son, Gary J. Hennen of DuBois; four grandchildren, Eric S. Hennen, Kristin B. Hennen, Steven J. Ingram and Matthew K. Hull; and one stepgrandson, Kyle R. Dornan. Deceased are three brothers, Conrad Hennen, Bernard Hennen and Kenneth Hennen; and twin sisters, Neva Myers and NomaCupler.
