Robert Wayne Markley, 76, of Hilltop Lane, Washington, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 1998. Mr. Markley was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church. He was employed by Washington Steel in the Houston plant maintenance department from 1965 to 1983. During World War II, he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, Saipan, Marianas Islands, Tinian, Iwo Jima and Volcano Islands. He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175. On November 23, 1946, he married Lillian Mary Kuhn, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael Markley of Claysville and Robert Cook of Washington; a daughter, Judith Breedlove of Washington; a stepdaughter, Gail Keener of Washington; seven grandchildren, Robert Breedlove, Marna Day, Oni Lee Markley, Jonathan Markley, Ashley Markley, Donald Keener Jr. and Timothy Keener; and six great-grandchildren.
