Howard B. "Bendo" Main, 65, of Grove Avenue, Canton Township, Washington, died unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 1998, in his home. He had been disabled by a stroke several years ago. Mr. Main attended Trinity schools and was a member of Calvary Temple of Washington. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8319 in Log Pile. Mr. Main had worked with the Canton Township road department as road foreman and operator for 30 years. He was a member of GMP Local Union 272 for 30 years. Surviving are three sons, Howard E., Delbert P. and Curtis P. Main, all of Washington; one daughter, Cora Lee Mitchell of Bentleyville; two brothers, Eugene Main of Washington and Paul David Main of Florida; six sisters, Violet Pees, Ruth McQuay, Roxie Hampson, Connie Rogers and Lois Martin, all of Washington, and Darlene Wright of Meadow Lands; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
