Joseph D. Falvo, 72, of North Franklin Township, Washington, and Quail Ridge, Boynton Beach, Fla., died at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 1998, in Washington Hospital. He was employed by John Stewart Painting Co. until 1960, when he opened his own business, Joe Falvo Painting and Decorating. Mr. Falvo was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Ushers Club, Alpine Club, B.P.O. Elks Lodge 776, Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175, Nevillewood Country Club, Quail Ridge Country Club and Quail Ridge Bowling League, Boynton Beach. He was a former member of Washington Country Club, Nemacolin Country Club and Lone Pine Golf Club. He was a basketball player for various leagues and was a WPIAL referee. Mr. Falvo was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. On July 27, 1947, he married Betty Verno, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Judith Ann Baxendell and Susan Falvo Warco, both of Washington; a brother, Louis Falvo of Washington; two sisters, Lena Parissee of Franklin and Dolly Passantino of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Billy and Jody Baxendell, and Holly, Tim and A.J. Warco; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Pat DeRosa; and a brother, Anthony Falvo.
