Frank Sweder, 82, of Avella, died Wednesday, August 19, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg. Mr. Sweder lived all his life in Cross Creek Township and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked 23 years as a coal miner and 25 years as a construction laborer, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Laborers Local 809 of Steubenville, Ohio. On May 24, 1947, he married Sarah Bonaventura, who died August 9, 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Marlene Puchi of McMurray and Frances Sweder of Carnegie; a son, John Sweder of Kissimmee, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Tami and Tracey. Deceased are three brothers, John, Joseph Jr. and Albert Sweder; and two sisters, Josephine Blanka and Anna David.
