Robert Charles Arthurs, 68, of Charleroi, died Tuesday, August 18, 1998, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Arthurs was a 1947 graduate of Norwin High School and a 1951 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in economics. He received his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1956, and was the assistant track coach at Pitt during his graduate school years. He was a member of Pittsburgh Bond Club and the Western Pennsylvania and the North Hills Genealogy Society. He was a past member of the Philadelphia and American Stock Exchanges and past president of Charleroi Rotary Club. He also was a past member of the Charleroi Chamber of Commerce and was chairman of the Mon Valley Industrial Development Authority since 1973. Mr. Arthurs was chairman of the Washington County Redevelopment Authority since 1980, a member of the Pitt Varsity Lettermen's Club and was chairman of Harvest Financial Inc. of Charleroi. Surviving are his wife, Madlyn Martucci Arthurs; a son, Robert Charles Arthurs II of Rostraver Township; three grandchildren, Claire Lynn, Chloe Lynn and Robert Charles Arthurs III; and a brother, Thomas J.
