Charles Vincent Miller, 74, of Sunrise Drive, Washington, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 1998, in his home. He had been ill since February. Mr. Miller had been employed as an operator at Brockway Glass Plant 7, formerly Tagart Valley Glass. He was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church and had served on the session. Mr. Miller was in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Western Pacific Theater, serving with the 500 First AAA Gun Battalion. He received the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with one bronze star, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Miller was a life member of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion and formerly served on the home association. On September 19, 1953, he married Virginia Rebecca Zebrasky who survives. Also surviving are a son, Gary W. Miller of Washington; a daughter, Karen Hoop of Hickory; two brothers, Harold Miller of Warren and Clarence Miller of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Kristen and Nathan Miller and Cody and Kaitlin Hoop.
