Frank Johnson McCann, 82, of Fairfield, Calif., died Friday, August 21, 1998, in his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born December 23, 1915, in Gates.
Mr. McCann had resided in Solano County, Calif., for the past 53 years, and in Fairfield for the last 27 years.
He was in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1942 to 1945. He was then employed in California by the federal government, working at the Benicia Arsenal, Hunter's Point and Mare Island Naval Shipyard, where he was a welder for 27 years.
Mr. McCann was a member of Northern Solano Lodge 2534, Sons of Italy in America. He also was a lifetime member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
His wife, Lenora W. Davis McCann, died in June 1992.
Surviving are three sons, Frank J. McCann of Anchorage, Alaska, Russell O. McCann of Van Nuys, Calif., and Richard W. McCann of California City, Calif.; a brother, Leonard McCann of Florida; a sister, Martha Lutes of Pennsylvania; a nephew; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
