Helen Stefanik, 83, of Mather, died Wednesday, August 26, 1998, in Washington County Health Center. Miss Stefanik was a nurse at Vesta No. 4 and No.5 mines in Richeyville and retired from Gateway Mine. She was Catholic and lived most of her life in Mather. Surviving are a brother, Henry Stefanik of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a sister, Christine Dias of California. A sister, Pauline Stock, is deceased. Services and interment are private.
