Laura M. Zappone, 83, of Crucible, died Friday, August 28, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg. Mrs. Zappone was a retired Curry Home employee and past union president of the employees. She lived most of her life in Crucible and was a member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, Carmichaels. On February 4, 1932, she married Charles Zappone, who died August 23, 1986. Surviving are a son, Dennis R. Zappone of Swayzee, Ind.; five daughters, Dorothy Dugan of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Theresa Walters, Beverly Febus, Mary Clark and Ruth Piel, all of Crucible; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Blevins of Ohio, Mary Norman of Leckrone and Dorothy Gribble of Brownsville; and a brother, Porter Reagan of Crucible. Deceased are a son, Charles Zappone; three brothers, James, John and Andrew Reagan; a sister, Thelma Clark; a granddaughter, Christine Clark; and a grandson, Michael Walters. At the request of the deceased, visitation and services will be private for the family. Arrangements are being made by Behm Funeral Home Inc., Jefferson.
