Allen S. "Albie" Spitak, 63, of Daisytown, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 29, 1998, in Brownsville General Hospital. Mr. Spitak was retired from H.J. Sherwood Refractories Co. of Cleveland, where he was employed for 36 years. He was a 1954 graduate of California Community High School and a member of Centerville American Legion Post 705, California Young Men's Club, Daisytown A.C., Hungarian Club of Daisytown and the California Boat Club. Mr. Spitak was a former president of the U.S. Polka Association and was founder and first president of the Cleveland Polka Association. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Judith A. Konick Spitak; a son, Steven Spitak of California; a granddaughter, Kaylee Elizabeth Spitak; a brother, Paul Spitak Jr. of Warren, Ohio; a sister, Dolores Bogus of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews.
