Paul W. Bishop Sr.

U. S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II
Paul W. Bishop Sr., 81, of 2796 Ivanhoe Road, South Pymatuning Township, died at 12:04 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 1998, in Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness.

He was born June 7, 1917, in Sharon, a son of Harry and Pansy Hurd Bishop.
Mr. Bishop was a 1935 graduate of Brookfield High School.
An Army Air Corps veteran, he served during World War II in Europe.
Mr. Bishop was a building superintendent for the former Sharon Store and later the former Strouss Hirschberg, Youngstown, from which he retired in the 1970s after more than 40 years of service.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon, and formerly was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 517, Sharpsville.
On March 17, 1946, he married Dorothy L. Adams, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jeanne A. Koch of Sharon and Marylou Polasky of Washington; a son, Paul W. Bishop Jr. of Sharpsville; a sister, Edna Recktenwald of Greenville; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Russell, Howard and Harold Bishop; and three sisters, Hilda Davis, Lois George and an infant sister, Phyllis Jean.
Services were held in Sharon, Saturday, August 29, 1998. Memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Regional Health System's Hospice Home Care, 490 N. Kerrwood Drive, Suite 204, Hermitage, PA 16148.
