George E. "Bus" Smith, 85, of Finleyville, died Sunday, August 30, 1998, in his home. He was a retired engineer for Pennsylvania Railroad, Shire Oaks, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are a son, Ronald Smith of Fenelton; a daughter, Donna Jean Laughner of Arizona; his stepmother, Elizabeth A. Keenist Smith of Wilson; five sisters, Blanche I. Kibe of West Newton, Margaret E. Hall of Elizabeth, Shirley M. Bour of Forward Township, Lillie J. Jobb of Virginia Beach, Va., and Karen M. Vucenovich of Clairton; a brother, David A. Smith of Verona; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Deceased is his wife, Clara Marie Miller Smith, who died August 3, 1995.
