Glen Elsworth Cunningham, 87, of Washington, formerly of Thomas Campbell Apartments and Floral Hill Drive, died at 12:35 a.m. Monday, November 30, 1998. Mr. Cunningham was employed as a cook for Washington Hospital for many years, and was maintenance superintendent for Washington Floral Co. before his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and making yarn poodles, of which he made several thousand. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Clinton Lodge 86 of Romney, W.Va., F&AM, a member of Chartiers Chapter 97 Order of Eastern Star, and served as Worthy Patron at North Shore Lodge in Miami, Fla. On June 1, 1933, he married Evelyn W. Jennings, who died September 23, 1997. They had celebrated 64 years of marriage. Surviving are two daughters, Louise C. Clutter and Lois C. McVay, both of Washington; a half-brother, Walter Cunningham of Winchester, Va.; two sisters, Madge Michael of Romney, W.Va., and Gay C. Warrick of Washington; five grandchildren, Noreen Cico, Glen Richard Clutter, Lisa Steadman, Kenneth McVay and Marsha Liberatore; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son who died in infancy; a grandson, Mark Clutter; a granddaughter, Barbara C. McVay; a great-grandson; two brothers, Paul and Carl Cunningham; and a sister, Nell Cunningham.
