Raymond McManus, 77, of 2528 Martindale Road, Deemston Borough, died at 11:32 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 1998, in his home. Mr. McManus was retired as a coal miner for Bethlehem Mine 58 in Marianna, and was also a carpenter by trade. He was Protestant. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Myrtle Kirk; three daughters, Idella Polan of Canonsburg, Joetta Niemeyer of The Woodlands, Texas, and Rayma Hellman of McMurray; a son, Richard McManus of Clarksville; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Jay Duane McManus, who died March 11, 1988; six brothers, Earl, Freeman, Edgar, Walter, Clarence and William; and a sister, Viola Lippart.
